Scorecarding
Scorecarding is the process that measures the overall
performance of a business enterprise for effective performance
management. Scorecards contain accounting data that
is used as metrics to measure performance based on several
parameters.
The concept of Scorecarding was pioneered by H. Thomas
Johnson of Portland State University and Robert S. Kaplan
of Harvard Business School and Carnegie - Mellon University
in their path-breaking book Relevance Lost. This book
explained how conventional accounting systems failed
to effectively measure performance.
